March is a very busy health awareness Month. March is Nutrition Awareness Month, Salt Awareness Month, Kidney Awareness Month and Colorectal Cancer Awareness Month. This month we will bring you several interviews on the importance of good nutrition and using less salt in your diet. Last month we brought you several videos on how to take care of your heart. Please take some time and watch some of these videos. Many cover the importance of salt intake in the diet, since a diet high in sodium affects blood pressure, damages the heart and contributes to strokes and kidney disease. Diabetes is also a big contributor to kidney disease and therefore you have to pay attention to your nutrition and manage your blood sugar.
